Darryl Melvin

Born in Trenton, NJ, Coach Darryl Melvin began his martial arts journey at the age of 11, driven by a deep passion for the sport and a desire to inspire and empower others. By 17, he was sharing his knowledge as an instructor, and at 20, he stepped into his first competition—an explosive debut that sparked a streak of 6 consecutive victories, all by knockout. Darryl has honed his skills under the guidance of multiple masters, including Guru Ed Green (Muay Thai, Silat Gayong, Harimau Berantai, Kung Fu, and Krav Maga), James Smith (professional Muay Thai), and Cikgu Gayong (master of Gayong). Today, Darryl continues to embody the values of martial arts, striving to uplift others through the same dedication and discipline that have defined his own path.

Coach Haile Pereira is a lifelong martial artist from Long Island, NY who began his journey training with Kru “Extreme” Lacosta under the “Extreme Muay Thai 1 through 9 System” at just the age of 3. Blessed with a prodigious upbringing in combat, he has refined his skill through 15+ years of training with different practitioners of various styles including 8 Venoms Muay Thai, Silat Harimau Berantai, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Commando Krav Maga. At 17, he entered his first K-1 kickboxing competition, marking the beginning of his full-contact fighting career. Committed to growing the next generation of fighters, Haile manages the Mixed Martial Arts community at Brandeis University, dreaming to follow in the footsteps of his master—Guru Ed Green—who travels continuously to Southeast Asia to train and fight.
